Hello boys and girls! We’re back on track after some summer chill. So hopin’ you all enjoyed Albi’s own mad milkshake experiments (forgive our guy, he had to beat bore in hot August afternoons), we’re home again and what a comeback! Our new work is out tomorrow, September 4th, through Dutch Legacy Kids Club label! “Metalheart” is the name of the EP, and it’s one step beyond our previous stuff. Let us spend a word on it.
This EP looks more to a real “minialbum” perspective than to a dance concept of a few tracks release where to put together some funny stuff. We know it’s not so common to work this way in the fast dance music world, where everyone is tryin’ to capture the sound of now and do it fast, but we needed time to grow our creature. We wanted to bring some fresh and more personal vibes in our music: winds have changed so much since we started to make music, we don’t want to copy ourselves in a loop way and with this work we show up different styles and do what we most feel and love in dance music at the moment.
People might find it distant from what is “cool” these days, but we don’t care about the trend, we just explore many faces and perspectives we have of dance music. From banging’ joints to most intense ones, this is what 3 Is A Crowd is right here, right now.
From a philosophical point of view, “Metalheart” has got its own meaning, too: ”Metalheart” is an hymn to the post-modern condition of human being in 21st century. Contemporary man is fused together with technology, those that once were just sci-fi suggestions are now everyday life reality… ”Metalheart” also pays an tribute and gets inspired by Tsukamoto’s ”Testsuo, the iron man”, as the iron man must have a heart made of metal for sure. A metal heart with a series number is exactly deprivation of humanity. The modular structure and apparent no characterization of the track represent the mirror of the unpersonalizination technology is operatin’ on human behaviour.
